Tryied to clean up my room earlier,,, but with ordered gouache came today,,, started painting a color study instead. Mmmm the smell of gouache~~~

It's been a long while since I painted, how I miss it so. I decided to take a 3day workshop and its been amazing. We didnt have much time to paint yesterday,,,,but here is my sketch for 2.5 hours on a canvas that's too big for me to chew,,,,

A pleasant surprise of a new book I received from a friend ,,, Valentin Serov,,,,With loads of photo enhanced charcoal work as well as his awesome oil works. It's one of the must haves for oil painters.

.dc adventures.

been at work away from los angeles,,,so i went out for a weekend excursion. my feet are having a fit right now as i type due to the abuse i gave them. of course, my digi camera ran out of battery at the end of today's trip,,, so i took out my pen and started to do quick sketches ~

.last class for winter.

this was done on last day of vadim's class. the model is about 60 yr old?, i gave him more than a lift and tuck haha.
i've learned quite a bit even thou the class was only 8 sessions. i will continue in SP just to keep up. happy painting y'all~~

it was my first attempt painting the outdoors,,,,haha

i was testing some cheap watercolour brushes, i like the looseness of  this sketch since it was harder for me to control the brushes. 9x12

vadim's class

this year, one of my biggest decision is to take a oil painting class and boy i'm loving it. i've always admire vadim's work and his class has been a great experience. he shows you what he meant by giving you a quick personal demo on 1/2 of your canvas.  he always wants you get better and pushes you to get there. we used zorn palette this week. i am amazed with all the color variation with the mix of just 2 color + bk/wt. vadim's class has been a great help. highly recommended.

started painting again, very happy getting back to the medium. great model,seems to get back into position immediately and relaxed.

roughly 3.5 hour with limited palette on 16x20.
i miss natural lighting.
